Moments on the Mount
We will begin our Wednesday night gatherings this fall with a book study of Kate Bowler's No Cure For Being Human. This is a poignant memoir of the author's struggle to deal with her cancer in ways that are honest, faithful, painful, yet beautiful. A professor of Christian history at Duke Divinity School, Kate Bowler's writings have appeared in the New York Times, her TED talks have been watched by millions, and she has been featured on the Today Show and many other national media outlets. She does not offer easy answers, but she does offer a powerful testimony to God's grace at work in our broken humanity. And she manages to weave in some delightful humor along the way. She has an award-winning podcast entitled, "Everything Happens." We will begin this study on the Wednesday evening after Labor Day, Sept. 7 at 6:30 pm. Go ahead and buy your book now (at a local bookstore or through Amazon) and read the first two chapters before our first gathering on September 7. Contact Pastor Jonathan if you would like to participate by Zoom.
