Appalachia service project

Appalachia Service Project is a Christian Ministry, open to all people, that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair and replacement.  Each summer, a group of Mt. Zion high-school youth, college students, and adults travel to the mountains of Appalachia for a week working to make homes warmer, safer, and drier.  Mt. Zion has been participating in this mission for over 30 years.  Our last trip including three generations from one family.  Serving through ASP is at the heart of the Mt. Zion community.

*We have not been given our exact date for this summer.  Email bmorris@mtzionumc.net if you are interested in going!

Carolina Cross COnnection: Urban

CCC's Urban Ministry partners with local groups and organizations, including the Haywood Street Congregation of Asheville NC, a unique church of housed and unhoused alike. Urban Ministry is an immersive experience to learn from and work alongside groups such as these who foster mutually redemptive relationships. Our focus will be to learn about homelessness. This past summer, we took twelve youth to Asheville and were so blessed by our time there.

Magical Mountain Christmas

This extraordinary ministry provides toys, Christmas gifts, food, and clothing to many families in the Appalachian Mountains.  One weekend each December, a group of volunteers, including high-school youth, adults, and entire families from Mt. Zion travel to the Appalachian Mountains to share the love of Christmas.
