We Welcome You to Join Us for One of Our Worship Services

Worship is the heart of what we, as the church are all about. The goal of our sacramental life and various ways of proclaiming Christ as Sovereign and Savior is to reach a wide variety of persons. For this reason, we offer a variety of worship opportunities.

Sunday Services

(Below is the pre-pandemic schedule -- see home page for updated schedule)

8:30am- Traditional Worship

Located in the Sanctuary, our 8:30 a.m. service is unique in that it offers the sacrament of Holy Communion each Sunday. All are welcome to receive Communion regardless of their denominational heritage or church membership. There is special music on most Sundays, including solos and hand bell ensembles.

9:45am- Contemporary Worship

Located in the Family Life Center, at our 9:45 a.m. service, people dress casually.  Our Worship Team leads us in Spirit-filled praise and thoughtful worship, directed toward God in a casual atmosphere. Lyrics, scriptures, and multimedia are projected on a large screen for all to follow along.  The sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month. All are welcome to receive it.

11:00am- Traditional Worship

Located in the Sanctuary, this service is unique in that it features our chancel choir each week. There are often children or hand bell ensembles as well as other instruments throughout the year. This service reflects the full grandeur of  the Christian liturgical tradition as celebrated in our Wesleyan heritage. The sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month. All are invited to the Lord's Table to receive this sacrament. of God's grace.

Located in the Sanctuary, our Wednesday night worship service is a seasonal worship service where people dress casually as we worship together from 6:40 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Our time together is typically sharing different bible studies and studies on popular culture. For those who prefer a day-time Bible study, we usually offer a separate time on Thursdays at 11 AM. We will look to restart Moments on the Mount in the fall of 2021.

The Feast- Special Needs Worship Service

9:45 AM.  Every 3rd Sunday,  in the Youth Room of Mt. Zion's Family Life Center

The Feast offers an alternative worship service in addition to our regularly scheduled worship experiences. This 20 minute service includes a shorter, simpler devotion with increased musical and involvement opportunities, and always includes communion.  Everyone is welcome at His table!  Serving opportunities (ushering, choir, etc.) for everyone is encouraged.

**The Feast has not met during the Pandemic. Please watch our website and other communications for when this will resume meeting.

Baptisms and Celebrations

From time to time, Mt. Zion celebrates great events in people's lives such as baptisms, confirmation, graduation, and other major events.  Please contact the church office to schedule a baptism or other events. 704-892-8566 or by email: info@mtzionumc.net

Nursery / Childcare

Mt. Zion encourages parents to bring their children with them to worship. However, we understand sometimes it is better to for them to be in the nursery.

Every Sunday nursery/childcare is provided for children ages infant through 4 years old from 10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. It is located on the ground level of the Education Building in room 101 (the building behind the sanctuary) through the summer. It is staffed by two paid caregivers in addition to adult volunteers from our church family. This nursery gives parents the opportunity of attending our eleven o'clock service and there are plans to expand the hours for any of our three Sunday worship services and adult Sunday School classes in the fall of 2021.
