Room in the Inn (RITI)

Room in the Inn is a ministry that Mt. Zion participates in every Tuesday night from December through March. Each night we offer a warm, safe place to sleep and provide 3 meals (dinner, breakfast and a bag lunch) for 10 people who are homeless.  There are a number of things that need to come together to make this ministry successful … and that is where you come in! You can volunteer by cooking a warm meal, packing a bag lunch, driving the church mini bus, doing laundry, staying overnight and more.  Click here to download a Word Document listing available volunteer opportunities.  Then email Katie Reimer if you would like to volunteer.

Babygarten - Winter 2012 Monday Class

BABYGARTEN - For Infants from birth through 18-months.  Infants and their caregivers will share nursery rhymes, songs, and books.  Participants will also get a chance to make fun projects that demonstrate the babies’ developmental milestones-usually a homemade toy or a baby book item.  This course will run six weeks each season.

Monday morning classes start January 23.  Classes also available on Saturday mornings starting January 28.

Souper Bowl of Caring

SOUPER BOWL of CARING collection is Sunday, February 5th after each church service. The youth ministry is asking you to consider bringing canned goods and monetary donations, all of which will go to Loaves and Fishes ministry at the Ada Jenkins Center.  (If you would like to write a check, you may make it payable to "Mt. Chili Lunch for Children

CHILI FOR CHILDREN: On Sunday, February 12, Mt.Zion will be holding a “Chili for Children” lunch. It will be following the 11:00am worship service (around 12 noon) and will be in the Family Life Center. Bring your family to support our Missions Ministry in South Africa, and for some delicious chili! Donations welcome & appreciated!

Welcome to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church!

Mt. Zion United Methodist Church welcomes all to its services, including those with communion. The church's regular worship times are 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00 am Sunday mornings. Since 1827, the people of Mt. Zion UMC have sought to be God's people so that God might be a part of the community in which we live.  We believe that the heart of the community has been, is, and shall be, the Church.  Because of that belief, we welcome all people in search of God's teaching who desire a spiritual home.  Our intention is to build upon our great heritage of service to our community and world by realizing an even greater vision for the future.
