The Bible YEar
Have you ever wanted to read through the Bible? Now is your chance to join with the entire congregation of Mt. Zion as we take on this challenge for 2023. We will be using a program called "The Bible Year." All of the details can be found here.
The Bible Year encourages us to read the Bible together. The Bible Year encourages us to read the Bible in its entirety. The Bible Year reminds us to take the Bible seriously, without having to take all of it literally. The Bible Year helps us read the Bible hopefully. The Bible Year helps us read the Bible regularly.
Homecoming will be celebrated on Sunday, September 24. There will be one Service at 10:30. After church there will be lunch on the grounds. We will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken sandwiches with all the trimmings, baked beans, banana pudding, and ice-cream. The Boy Scouts will again do the cooking with donations accepted. Bring your lawn chairs and join in the fun. We will have inflatables, music and good old conversation with family and friends. Please plan on joining us as we celebrate 196 years of MT. ZION U.M.C.

Rise Against Hunger
Rise Against Hunger is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives and responding to emergencies. This fall we will be collecting donations and hosting a packing event on Saturday, October 7. The Rise Against Hunger packing events provide a fun, educational way for groups to literally lend a hand to people facing hunger across the globe. We combine an assembly line process with an educational experience to not only make a huge impact worldwide, but to touch the lives of those in our group. Our goal is to raise at least $4000 and that will allow us to pack and send 10,000 meals! Go to the Rise Against Hunger website.
How can you help? Donate either to the church and write on your check “Rise Against Hunger” or donate directly to Rise Against Hunger HERE. Online donations will be counted toward our Mt. Zion total. This is a great opportunity for everyone to take a moment and see how we spend so much extra money on food, drinks, etc. Try going to Starbucks one less time a week and donate for this project. Or as a family eat our one less time and donate the cost of that meal. Every little amount helps!
In September everyone will have the opportunity to sign up to help at the packing event on Saturday, October 7. There will be a job for everyone from 3-103! We will need at least 60 people to help on this day. Thank you!
