About Ada Jenkins

This local mission is a non-profit services agency, located in Davidson, providing programs and services focused on supporting those in need in Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, and South Iredell County.  For more information on the Ada Jenkins Center see

Food Collection

Mt. Zion provides food donations to the food pantry. Collection bins are located in the Family Life Center, the upper level of the Education Building, the lower level of the Sanctuary Building outside the elevator and outside the Library in the church office area.

school supply collection

School supplies and backpacks are collected before the start of the school year.  These supplies are taken to the Ada Jenkins Center and local children and youth are able to choose their needed supplies.

backpack food ministry

This ministry provides meals for elementary school children who would not have basic food on weekends. Volunteers donate a backpack of food for the children to take home each weekend.  This program run concurrently with the school year.

Special holiday bags are also provided for local children and youth through the schools.

habitat for humanity

Mt. Zion is one of many churches in our area participating in the Habitat for Humanity Interfaith Building program.  We contribute both financial support and volunteers to this local program.

Volunteer teams are needed at different times throughout the year.

additional mission opportunities

repairers of the breach

This ministry helps families in need identified by Ada Jenkins.  At Christmas, families are provided with new clothing, gift cards, toys, and food.

room at the inn

Mt. Zion partners with the Urban Ministries Center in Charlotte and volunteers as a host site for their Room In the Inn (RITI) mission providing transportation, housing, and food to 10 neighbors who are homeless twice a month on Tuesday nights.

This will be our 8th year of providing Easter baskets for the After School children at Ada Jenkins Center.  This is a great opportunity for families and classes to help in this project.  There are two ways to help:  Create your own basket or donate $15 for us to purchase one for you.  You can do this by dropping off your baskets at the Church Office or on Sunday mornings on the table in the Family Life Center, no later than March 29th.  If you have any questions, please contact Wendi Mulligan at or                         413-335-5343. Checks should be made out to Mt. Zion and designated in the memo area for Easter Baskets.
