school supply collection

School supplies and backpacks are collected before the start of the school year.  These supplies are taken to the Ada Jenkins Center and local children and youth are able to choose their needed supplies.

BACKPACK SCHOOL SUPPLY MISSION

Plans are under way for Ada Jenkins' annual "book Bag It!" school supply drive which supports our local children for the upcoming school year. We need your help!

Shop for supplies: Click here for the list of needed supplies. It is not necessary to purchase the complete list. Note that a backpack is not on the list. We receive a supply of them, however if you have already purchased one or find one you just can't resist, we can always use it! Please deliver supplies to the church office by Sunday, August 7.

Monetary donation: If you prefer to make a monetary donation, please make your check payable to Mt. Zion UMC and write "School Supplies" in the memo line and we will do the shopping for you! The cost for one student is about $70. We will also be supporting the teachers (who pay for many classroom items using their own funds) by supplying needed classroom items which we can purchase in bulk. Please have your donation to the church office by August 7.

Volunteers needed: to shop or pack backpacks. The packing date is Monday August 22 beginning at 9 am upstairs in the Education Building.

If you have any questions, please call the church office or contact Sebra Maines at sebramaines@yahoo.com
