Estate Planning

Our United Methodist Foundation in the Western North Carolina Conference has some resources for you to consider in planning your legacy.  A legacy is something you do now, that will live on.

  • It is extremely important for you to have a will in place before you die for a number of reasons.  You want a will so you dictate what you want done with your assets rather than the state deciding for you.  You also need a will if you have minor children so you designate who will become your children's guardian.   Click on this link for a resource put together by the Foundation entitled A Christian Guide to Planning Your Will and Trust.
  • Click on this link for further information on gifts you can include in your estate planning including the following: charitable unitrust, charitable annuity trust, gift annuity, deferred gift annuity, sale and unitrust, and part gift and part sale.  Or click here to receive a personalized plan using the gift calculator provided.
  • You can find a wealth of other information by visiting the United Methodist Foundation's webpage and their Facebook page.
